Effect of sintering on the marginal and internal fit of CAD/CAM-fabricated zirconia frameworks.

چکیده
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of post-machining sintering on marginal and internal fit of CAD/CAM-fabricated zirconia frameworks. Single crown copings (A: abutment), three-unit bridge frameworks (APA, P: pontic), four-unit bridge frameworks (APPA), and five-unit bridge frameworks (A1P1A2P2A3) were fabricated with raw-stage zirconia blanks using a commercial CAD/CAM system (KATANA, Noritake Dental Supply Co. Ltd., Aichi, Japan). Crown copings and frameworks were cemented to their respective master abutment models, and thickness of the cement layer was measured at specific measuring points. Marginal and internal fit of both APA and APPA were within clinical acceptance. However, the marginal gap and thickness of the cement layer on the axial surface of the pontic side of APA and APPA were slightly higher than those of the non-pontic side. As for the marginal gap of A1P1A2P2A3 framework, it was superior to those of APA and APPA because the center abutment supported the framework to prevent distortion.

Background and Aims: Marginal accuracy is a crucial factor influencing the clinical long-term reliability of implant-supported fixed dental prostheses (FDPs). The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the marginal fit of three-unit zirconia bridge frameworks fabricated using two different computer-aided design (CAD)/ computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems (AmannGirrbach and Zirkonzahn...

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the span length on the fit of zirconia framework fabricated using CAD/CAM system. MATERIALS AND METHODS Abutments for single, 4-unit and 6-unit fixed partial prostheses were fabricated. Ten zirconia frameworks were fabricated for each group. The marginal and internal gap were presented by means of replica technique and measured b...
متن کاملEffect of Core Thickness and Porcelain Sintering on Marginal Adaptation
Background and aim: Marginal adaptation affects the long-term success of full-coverage restorations. This study aimed to assess the effect of porcelain sintering and zirconia core thickness on the marginal adaptation of all-ceramic restorations. Materials and methods: In this in-vitro experimental study, a standard brass die, 7 mm in length and 5 mm in diameter, was fabricated using a milling ...
متن کاملComparative evaluation of marginal and internal fit of anatomic and nonanatomic metal frameworks fabricated by selective laser sintering
For teeth restoring single metal-ceramic crowns were the gold-standard for many years. Selective laser sintering is a new technology which can provide accurate complex-shaped frameworks for dental restorations, layer-by-layer, according to a three-dimensional computer model, using metal powder. An important factor for long term success of fixed prostheses is the marginal and internal adaptation...
متن کاملThe evaluation and comparison of marginal adaptation in metal ceramic and all ceramic restorations fabricated by two methods: CAD/CAM and conventional
Introduction: Marginal fit is a key factor for long term clinical success through any dental restorations. Poor marginal adaptation causes cement dissolution. This can lead to dental caries, gingival irritation, periodontal diseases, and finally treatment failure. The aim of this study was measurement and comparison of marginal gap quantities in metal ceramic and all ceramic dental restorations...
